I’ve seen a few articles about upgrading to Lion but most leave out the most important steps. Two steps that you should really do before any software update. In fact even when or if you need to update to the latest Snow Leopard (10.6.8) you should do these first.

Recently I read one of these predictive articles that industry pundits love to make. Usually they are the kind of article you can reread in five years and have a good laugh. The headline read iPad casts shadow on MacBook and of course I got sucked into reading it. The article took the point of view of walking into an Apple Store, talking to some of the employees, and getting the impression that the MacBook Air, and in fact maybe the whole MacBook line was doomed.

How many rings does it take to get to the juicy voicemail prompt on my iPhone?
Finally found out how to set the delay before calls go to voicemail. AT&T Customer Service had no idea when I called a few weeks back but a random guy with the handle dmapr - a Cell guru - on their web based support forum knew the answer.

The iPhone App I’ve been working on for some months has finally been released to Apple’s App Store. It is a football game designed for armchair coaches who want to design their own plays. You can see it in iTunes by following this link.

My last iPhone post I said video and voice dialing were the only things missing from the iPhone. Well iPhone OS 3.0 and the 3Gs hardware are here and not only have those features been added, but a compass as well which perfectly rounds out the GPS function to allow driving assistance to truly work.

Well I’ve upgraded to a later version of Drupal and this version conveniently has a nice third party module to support OpenID. That’s good because the provider I used originally seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Now I can use my website as my OpenID and have the whole thing handled by VeriSign. Yea!

Well one year into the iPhone era. Millions have been sold and now the next generation is cheaper and better. The issues that enterprises were unhappy about seem to have evaporated in this new version of the phone. Software developers finally have an API that can be used to write more than a simple widget and a store to sell and download their applications into people’s phones. GPS has been added.
